The first installment of our new feature, in which Friend of a Friend's Editor in Chief raves about her latest obsessions. This week, a very chic—and newsworthy—pair of sunglasses (and a short NYC weather report).

Is anyone else confused about the weather in NYC? It’s November, 60 degrees, with no sign of cooling down. I remember it snowed on Halloween two years ago, so clearly summer doesn’t want to go away. I’m excited for winter weather (and all of the chic coats that come with it), but a California girl like myself never shies away from some extra sunshine.

As always, Chanel has come to my aid. Last week, the brand unveiled its first ever ecommerce site with the launch of their new eyewear collection. I’ll admit that I’ve never been too adventurous with eyewear—I’ve always gone for a classic aviator or wayfarer in black or tortoise. But like the weather I decided to mix it up and pre-holiday treat myself to a pair of particularly alluring Butterfly Chain sunglasses. The color isn’t bright or obnoxious…it actually camouflages as a neutral color for almost any outfit in my wardrobe. I don’t feel like Paris Hilton circa 2006, but can definitely wear these around my dad without him saying “Is that you under there, Olivia?” Paired with an all black ensemble for a pop of color, or a classic vintage T and RE/DONE jeans, these shades are my new go-to’s. Talk about good looking (sorry).
