What We’re Using S.W. BASICS CREAM

I’ve always had a very complicated beauty routine—like, two cleansers, four toners, and a myriad of moisturizers and balms complicated. I was raised with the idea that your skin always needs to mix it up (a philosophy paired with my addiction to trying new products…not very safe). In a world where we’re so used to all these endless options, my new favorite beauty brand is reminding me that less is more.

Hello to S.W Basics, a skincare line based in Brooklyn based around the idea of simplicity, both in product and routine. None of their products have more than five ingredients in them (hence the "Basics"). S.W endorses an all-natural lifestyle for your skin, sourcing ingredients that are organic, fair trade, or locally obtained from a family farm. I’ve recently fallen in love with their hero cream, with shea butter, coconut oil and olive oil. It’s definitely a thicker cream, so for me, it works best as an overnight balm. S.W doesn’t over-moisturize and has actually brought balance back into my oily skin. And thanks to its wholesome ingredient load, you can use it on your body and face, no breakouts. There’s something reassuring about knowing exactly what you’re putting on your skin—sometimes, it makes sense to simplify.
