The Beauty Guide Three Looks To Try

The current trend in beauty seems to be all-natural everything, but there’s something to be said for the occasional dramatic beauty look. In celebration of full-faces everywhere, we tapped our guest editor Rumi Neely, who had more than enough to share. Read on for her current favorite beauty looks, and how to achieve them:

The Festival Face

I love a super playful and ethereal festival look. For Saturday at Coachella, I started with a rich copper base shadow and used some crystals I picked up at the drugstore at the corners of my eyes as well as just underneath the lower lashline. Well-coated lashes, some unrestrained highlighter use, and Kylie's Koko K took me the rest of the way there.

The Statement Berry Eye

I weirdly never get tired of a berry-toned eye. Anywhere from bright copper to deep maroon, I’m all over it. I'm also not against using a deeper toned blush as eyeshadow when the eyeshadow color selection isn't quite there. I focused this look around Becca's Mineral Blush in Nightingale, which is way too intense for me as a blush, but has a rich mauve color that looks amazing as an allover shadow. Highlighter on the brow bone and inner corners completes the eye and makes everything look a little dewier. On my skin I used one of my go-tos—Armani Luminous Silk Foundation with some of the same highlighter brushed over the cheekbones.

The Very Brown Lip

A statement lip isn't something I'm normally in the mood for but is definitely fun to experiment with sometimes. I was dying to try Kylie's True Brown—the combination of the matte finish and that intense Nineties brown tone is such a vampy, strong look. I (very carefully!) lined my lips with the matching True Brown liner and filled them in with the wand. Done. For my eyes I did a simple cat eye with a little bit of taupe shadow for depth.
